Migration of the Osprey

The Osprey always amaze me.  “Rob” Bierregaard, of the University of North Carolina has been tracking these birds with transmitters for a while now, and the knowledge is astounding, tragic, exhilarating and everything in between. As we learn of the life and migration of these raptors, I never cease to look at one with admiration at the work of nature.

Two osprey just landed in the saltmarsh in Little Bay, Fairhaven, Buzzard’s Bay. They landed on the ground, and stayed a short while before flying off, obviously looking for a site to nest. Birds have also returned to Martha’s Vineyard and other regions

Here is Rob’s website, with a newsletter that reports on the birds he has tracked.
