Solo sail across Vineyard Sound and Buzzard’s Bay: bittersweet end of season voyage LaborDay 2015
Over the last decade, most of my sailing has been by myself. After over twenty years of sailing with friends who can lend a hand, I hjave had to learn new ways of safely raising and striking sails, as well as adjusting to the solitude. This solitude is pervasive. No one to share the experiences (good and bad) with me, but also a sense of heightened spirituality at the same time. Just me, the boat and the gret wave….
